Saskatchewan Legislation Related to Agriculture Water Management 

  • The Water Security Agency Act – This act is administered by the Water Security Agency, and it establishes the mandate and purpose of the Water Security Agency and the powers that the agency has in carrying out and fulfilling this mandate. 

  • The Water Security Agency Regulations – These regulations are administered by the Water Security Agency, and they describe the regulatory requirements to obtain a drainage approval for constructing and operating drainage works. 

  • Environmental Management and Protection Act – This act is administered by the Ministry of Environment, and it protects the air, land, and water resources of the province through regulating and controlling potentially harmful activities and substances. 

  • The Conservation and Development Act – This act provides the legal framework for the establishment and operation of Conservation and Development Areas (C&Ds) in Saskatchewan.
